About me
graphic and ui/ux design
My name is Lane Melancon. I enjoy troubleshooting, solving problems, and creating simple designs and layouts that prioritize the user experience.
My career in the creative field began in 2014 when my friend and I started a wedding videography company, which is still operating today. After graduating high school, I attended McNeese State University, where I began obtaining my degree in Graphic Design. Amid my studies at McNeese State University, I transitioned to SOWELA Technical Community College to pursue a more in-depth understanding of graphic, UI, and UX design. Here, I received a degree in Digital Arts and Communication with a concentration in Graphic Design. While working towards my degree, I developed White Fence Media, a media company specializing in real estate video marketing. I also worked at a local web development agency as a Junior Web Developer, utilizing WordPress and Figma to create responsive websites for clients. During my last semester at SOWELA, I began working as the Lead Graphic Designer for a local non-profit organization. There, I was responsible for the creation of print, graphic, and video content. A year later, I was promoted to the position of Creative Director, where I now lead a productive team of designers, editors, and social media interns.
